name your pet rabbit

Yesterday, I asked a friend what they called their pet rabbit.
The answer was—

Stuart

Why? asked I, all innocent.

Oh, because Stuart can be turned into Stew.

And what was your previous rabbit called?

Cassie

Why?

It was short for Casserole.

I thought this was a bit mean, so I didn't ask what befell Cassie.

No illusions amongst the young anymore.
Gone, it would seem, are the days of Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter Rabbit.
