the definitive psychology of a cat

After weeks of close study, I can now produce the definitive psychology of a cat:

Eat-sleep-be annoying....eat-sleep-be annoying....
eat-sleep-be annoying....eat-sleep-be annoying....
eat-sleep-be annoying....eat-sleep-be annoying....
eat-sleep-be annoying....eat-sleep-be annoying....

Hopefully, eventually end up in a stew.

‘vice squad’ to be renamed ‘bad persons contingency man-caused naughtiness operations

“Scotland Yard's famous Vice Squad, which deals with prostitution and other aspects of London's underworld, has changed its title to the rather less dynamic "Serious Crime Directorate 9: Human Exploitation and Organised Crime Command", or SCD9 for short.”

New six years minimum in jail if you call them the vice squad.

“You just know we hate that expression”, said their PR flack.

all must have prizes, or how to sell 2p worth of metal for 50p, or....

...how to restrict the money supply,
or a £14.50 tax on the neurotic.
If you’re completely mad, then you can buy these 50p coins directly from the Royal Mint for £3 each, in the hope that an even bigger idiot will buy it from you for even more in a hundred year’s time.

“The designers range from a Manchester policeman and a delivery driver from Reading to a bank clerk from Preston and a Bristol schoolgirl.”

“ "The 50ps will be part of a long-lasting, wide-reaching cultural legacy that will benefit the entire nation and I'm looking forward to finding the first one in my change and collecting the entire range," [said] Lord Coe.”

so who’s the pseudoscientific fraud? - the fossil media strikes again

“US physics professor: "Global warming is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life" ”

Thence follows the usual long, rambling potage of rhetoric asserting that global warming is a scam and a conspiracy.

This item is presented by

“James Delingpole is a writer, journalist and broadcaster who is right about everything. He is the author of numerous fantastically entertaining [fiction] books” [Quoted from blogs.telegraph.co.uk]

“The recent focus on depression and the have-it-all woman has implied that modern-day mental health is primarily a female issue. Not so, says James Delingpole, who has battled with manic depression for years…” [Quoted from dailymail.co.uk]

After 67 years, some unknown scientist is leaving the American Physical Society. When I was younger, there were great scientists. Now they won’t take me seriously, said 601-year-old Harold Lewis.

It just isn’t fair, he said.

I see no scientific evidence or argument in the article.

Forgive me if I’m unimpressed by this latest attempt of denialists to gain the next Nobel prize.

Marker at abelard.org

I’m happy to report that Wikipedia has now caught up with one of its very few useful services, and discovered the birthdate of one ‘Harold Lewis’, scientist!

I was incorrect in my estimate of his age as six hundred and one.

He was, in fact, purchased on the first of October 1923 and is, thus, a mere 87 years young this very month, not including his time in the hatchery.

Apologies to any readers I may misinformed or misled. But in the true manner of empiric science I correct my misstatements the moment I become aware of better data.

If only Denialism Central could keep similar high standards.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
Lots of pictures are worth lots of words.

Do as I say!

“Remarks on restaurant menus by Michelle Obama, as provided by the White House”

“But here’s the thing. Even if we give parents all the information they need and we improve school meals and build brand new supermarkets on every corner, none of that matters if when families step into a restaurant, they can’t make a healthy choice.

“And the truth is that while restaurants are offering more options and families take advantage of them more often, they aren’t always the healthiest choices. ”

Copiously illustrated:

“The 1949 Delahaye Roadster Type 175 S Roadster, which some have dubbed the most beautiful car in the world, once owned by the late British actress Diana Dors has sold at RM Sports & Classics of Monterey Auction in California.

“Although the expected price between $4 and $6 million, a turquoise sports car made in 1949 by French manufacturers Delahaye, was sold for ‘only’ $3 million...” [Quoted from extravaganzi.com]
