Orange tree by abelard

Description: A tree on another planet where, where, as the songs have it, “the sky is always blue and I love you”. On the planet (yes, it’s meant to be anomalous) if a tree needs a red sun in the sky or even a green and purple-striped one, naturally that sun appears. Should a falling fruit take up its exactly correct balance half-way to the ground, there it freezes for ever. To help the viewer to understand time is frozen by the falling fruit while the branch adds a surreal effect that the viewer may be brought back to the reality of the colour-field painting, and the yellow oranges punch holes in the tree.

Size: 180 x 120 cm

Serial Number: 07
